Just 3 hours from Kathmandu, the Bhote Kosi is without a doubt the most exciting thing you can do in Nepal, and is quite possibly one of the best 2 day rafting trips offered anywhere in the world. The Bhote Kosi is a very steep and very continuous mountain stream with solid grade 4 and 5 rapids in high water and more grade 3 at lower levels. Continuous, challenging and action-packed the Bhote Kosi offers you nothing less than the ride of a lifetime.
This trip departs from Kathmandu, so please allow an additional day for your transportation between Pokhara and Kathmandu.

Day 1 - Training & Rafting on the lower section of the Upper Bhote Kosi
Depart Kathmandu at 6.30am and drive to our put in point just below the dam on the upper Bhote Kosi. After lunch we give a thorough safety talk and allow time for you to learn paddling techniques and guide commands. We then take to the river and experience a series grade +4 rapids as we travel downstream. After the day has ended we drive to the Borderlands River Resort where safari style tents, showers & toilets and a massive dining hall with a well stocked bar will be waiting for you.

Day 2 - Rafting the Wild Upper Bhote Kosi
After breakfast we take our bus to the put in point high in the Bhote Kosi gorge, close to the border with Tibet. Before starting there is another paddling session to refresh everyone’s memory and warm up before the real action begins. You will then experience 4-5 hours of pure white water, all the way downstream, encountering rapids such as ‘Gerbil in the plumbing’, ‘Frog in the Blender’, ‘Carnal Knowledge’, ‘Midnight special’, ‘Ex-Lax’, ‘The great wall’, ‘Liquid Bliss’ , ‘Fake right, go left’,‘My God, what to do?’ and ‘Dazed & Confused’. Without a doubt this is some of the finest white water rafting to be had anywhere in the world. After reaching our takeout point, it is a 3 hour bus ride back to Kathmandu aiming to arrive around 7pm.
