We are pleased to be able to offer you the chance to paddle your own mini raft on our unique Ducky Trips. We can take you on Phewa Lake and the Lower Seti River for beginners and on the Trisuli and Kali Gandaki for those with previous experience. Customised trips are also available for Intermediate and advanced paddlers on request. 

Included: Transportation, Food, Accommodation, Safety Equipment, Duckies, Paddles, Dry Bags, Expert Guides, Safety Kayakers and a Safety Raft.

Ducky trips can be run as a stand alone trip or combined with one of our standard rafting trips. Going in a Ducky on the river allows you to take control of your own mini raft, and following the instructions of our expert guides you can challenge yourself as you take on the river rapids.

To start our trips we will give you an Introduction to duckies in a safe calm environment, out on Phewa Lake in Pokhara or in a quiet river eddy. Before setting off we will give you safety demonstrations and teach some basic paddle techniques, balancing and steering the ducky, recovery techniques after a flip and an introduction to rescuing swimmers.

Once on the river we refresh your new knowledge before setting off. As we paddle gently down stream through gentle grade 1 and -2 rapids, there will be plenty of opportunity to hone your balancing and steering skills, all under the watchful guidance of our experienced instructors. At the lunch stop you will learn some basic swift water rescue skills to add to your safety knowledge. As we continue to travel down river the guides will help you to understand how the river flows and how to read the water and understand currents.

We will work to build up your experience, gradually hitting bigger waves and longer rapid systems. At all times you will have the option of captaining the Ducky yourself or working with one of our experienced guides to  help you negotiate the larger rapids.

Ducky Trips are always accompanied by an additional safety kayaker and  a support raft to carry all the required food, camping equipment and your gear.
